The 2000-2001 Stars on Ice tour is, yet again, a study in fine fashion. Jef Billings is truly the best designer on ice.

First, the On-The-Road awards:

Best Tour Ensemble: I doubt SOI could have ever lost this award -- at least not in the last 6 or 7 years. The 2000 - 2001 tour is no exception. Not only are all of the individual costumes (save one or two) perfect, the group numbers are perfectly dressed. Billings has an incredible knack for dressing everyone to their best and making all of the skaters look similar. This photo from the Tunnel Vision number is a perfect example. Those girls are so lucky -- not because of Ilia -- but because of those wonderful outfits!

Best Individual Outfit on Tour: Tara, hands down. In fact, this fringed black dress with hundreds of red beads is one of IceJoan's favorite ladies' dresses ever. In a chat on USA Today, Tara told a poster that it was one of her favorites too. The design is perfect for her number, fits very nicely with the music. The fringe is just a stroke of genius. Bravo!

And now the rest of the highlights:

Ilia looks incredible in the unlikely combination of textured purple and leatherish green.

Jenni's pink flowered dress flows with their choreography. But Todd in pink? It ain't his hue...

Usually IceJoan frowns upon small details on skating dresses but Jef proves her wrong. And isn't the gathering at the breast lovely?

Only Renee Roca could wear this barely-there dress! What would look skanky on another skater looks beautiful on her small frame.

Once again, Tara's looking too cute! Jef manages to dress her young without looking too teeny-bopperish.

Yuka! I'm not sure how Jef does it, but this dress on Yuka is a perfect example of how he balances sexy with sweet.

And now, for the lowlight:

Kurt, darling -- you are such a nice looking man. However, putting a very white man without Denis Petrov arms in a black tank top just isn't cool. Ugh -- this outfit has come close to forever erasing the memory of Kurts leather pants in Brickhouse.

Congrats to SOI for really only having one "lowlight". Champions on Ice on the other hand....
